About: A flowering herb, Helichrysum is known as ‘Immortelle’ or ‘Everlasting’ due to its long-lasting, bright yellow blooms and its oil’s rejuvenating effect on the skin. It is especially useful for mature, damaged, dry or irritated skin-types as it promotes cellular regeneration and scar tissue repair. The oil can also be applied to irritations, such as minor bruises, burns and sprains, as well as facial blemishes. Helichrysum’s aroma is potent and calming with herbal, smoky and medicinal notes.

Common Uses: Helichrysum is often used in skin care products and soothing lotions, balms and salves.

For aches and pains, mix a few drops Helichrysum and a drop or two of Peppermint in about ½ ounce of lotion or carrier oil and rub it into the areas of concern.

For burns and sunburns, mix 8 drops Helichrysum and 20 drops Lavender into water, aloe vera or hydrosol then apply to affected area multiple times a day. Combine ingredients in a bottle with a misting cap and store in the refrigerator, then mist onto the skin for cooling relief.

Blend 1/4 ounce rose hip seed oil with 1/4 ounce calendula oil and add 13 drops Helichrysum and 5 drops German Chamomile. Apply once or twice a day for soft, radiant skin.

Blending Recommendations: Helichrysum has a strong medicinal aroma with floral flourishes and a turpentine finish.

Helichrysum is a miracle! My son-in-law used it when his whole hand was severely burned from hot wax. The doctors and burn center were amazed at his response and the speedy, complete healing achieved wit helichrysum.
