Cedar Atlas has a woody rich scent with hints of fruity sweet notes. It is very calming, grounding and soothing by nature. Best known as a tonic for the lymphatic and circulatory systems and as a vulnerary, meaning it helps the skin regenerate. Often Cedar Atlas is used in formulas for reduction of cellulite and skin scrubs for its ability to release excess water and aid in cellular fat metabolism. The scent is widely enjoyed and used in blending to add a rich earthly undertone. This oil is very gentle and safe but is best avoided during pregnancy.

It is toning, cleansing and antiseptic and a good addition to homemade cleansers. Acne, bug bites, irritated skin, inflammation, and scarring are ideal issues for the use of Cedar Atlas essential oil in synergistic blends. It is an agent for balancing sebum production in the skin and sweat glands. Cedar Atlas has fungicidal abilities fighting mildew and mold making a great addition to household cleaners, mop water and cleansing sprays. Its soothing power is also good for the lungs and respiratory system and can help expel mucus and calm bronchitis.

The essential oil brings this delightful scent in a small convenient form. Just 1-3 drops of Cedar Atlas provides a calm and centered state of mind ideal for meditation, baths, body care and perfumes.

In Ayurveda Cedar Atlas is considered to be vata reducing and therefore balances excess vata.
Cedar Atlas blends well with Clary Sage, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Rosemary, Juniper Berry, Jasmine, Sweet Orange, Lime, Bergamot, Cypress, Scotch Pine, Douglas Fir, Frankincense, Peppermint and more.
There are many different types of Cedar essential oil including Cedar Atlas sometimes called Cedarwood Atlas, Tibetan or Himalayan Cedar, Texas Cedar,
Cedar Leaf also known as Thuja, and Cedar of Lebanon which is nearly extinct. Many essential oils labeled as cedar are not Cedars at all but species of Juniper which is revealed by the botanical Latin name. Each of these different species of Cedar has a different scent, chemistry and indications for use.
Cellulite and Water Retention
- 30 drops Eucalyptus Citriodora
- 40 drops Lemon
- 40 drops Cedar Atlas
- 30 drops Sage
- 20 drops Niouli / MQV
- 40 drops Cypress
- 3 Ounces Hazelnut oil
- Apply 2-3 times per day to the local affected area for 30 days
- or Veriditas Cellulite Reduction Treatment
- 20 drops Lavender
- 15 drops Lemon
- 20 drops Orange
- 15 drops Cedar Atlas
- In 4 oz spray bottle topped off with water.
- This room freshener creates an amazing atmosphere in the home when spritzed
- 2 Drops Cedar Atlas
- 5 drops Frankincense
- 1 drop Jasmine absolute
- 5 drops Cypress
- Blend together in a small bottle and use as cologne, deodorant or in beard oil
Toner for oily skin
- 3 Tbsp. Witch hazel Alcohol extract.
- 1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel
- 1 drop Cedar Atlas
- 3 drops Lavender
- 4 drops Frankincense
- 3 Tbsp. Rose hydrosol
- Mix together in a spray bottle and spray on the skin making sure not to make direct contact with the eyes. The above recipe is easily doubled or quadrupled to fill a larger bottle.
