About: Spikenard is an amazing essential oil with many properties. It has a deep, root-like, valerian scent. The plant grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas and produces a dense cluster of red and white berries. The roots have a powerful aromatic scent and are steam distilled to produce the essential oil. Spikenard has been used for over 2,000 years as an incense to deepen spiritual practices.
Wild Spikenard has been over exploited in Nepal; only cultivated Spikenard is available for export. Veriditas by Pranarom sells only organic and sustainably cultivated Spikenard in alignment with their commitment to ecological sustainability and ethical sourcing.
